Although we have a strong tradition of revolutionary poets, the art of poetry is dying in Pakistan. Regional Poets (poets writing in regional languages like Pushto or Punjabi) are not recognized for their efforts. Thus, in conjunction with SDG 10 – Reduced Inequalities and Commonwealth Charter (CC) 4 – Tolerance, Respect and Understanding, and CC 13 – Importance of Young People in Commonwealth, the Zalmi Foundation donated £833 to the local Pushto Poet. We aim to support artists from on Commonwealth Countries in future too.
